Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Auruments. By accessing or using our global platform, website, and studio suite, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Platform Role & User Accounts

Auruments functions as a technology marketplace connecting music students with independent expert instructors. Users must provide accurate registration details and maintain the security of their accounts. Users under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian manage their account and bookings.

3. Payments, Fees & Payouts

All payments are processed securely through Stripe or Paystack. Buyers pay the price shown. Auruments keeps a platform fee from the seller's side of each sale: 15% of lesson plans, 13% of book sales, and 10% of other marketplace sales (sheet music and other digital products, event tickets and gear). Shipping charges go to the seller in full. Teacher payouts are disbursed automatically via Stripe Connect upon successful completion of scheduled sessions.

4. Teacher Studio and music schools

The Teacher Studio helps teachers and music schools keep records of their own students, lessons, invoices, exams, recitals and staff. The teacher or school is responsible for those records, for having permission to keep them, and for the invoices they issue. Payroll figures are gross amounts worked out from lessons marked as taught: Auruments does not calculate tax or other deductions, does not employ or pay any school's staff, and does not hold staff pay. Exam layouts are provided as a starting point; Auruments is not affiliated with any exam board, so check each board's current requirements. Reports and figures support record-keeping and are not tax, legal or employment advice. HR tools (availability, time off, cover, checklists, staff policies and pay statements) are records and reminders: the school decides whether someone is an employee or a contractor, carries out any background checks itself, and remains the employer or engager of its staff. Policy acknowledgements record that a person read a policy; they are not a signed contract. A school is responsible for what its office admins do in its Studio, and for what it publishes on its public school page.

Studio Pro and Studio Premium. Paid Studio plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled, and can be cancelled at any time to end at the close of the period already paid. Studio Premium includes the owner plus the number of staff teachers shown on the plan page; each additional teacher is charged from the next renewal. Moving up to a higher plan may be charged straight away for the rest of the current period. Founding Teacher free months and discounts apply as shown on the plan page. Prices may be subject to applicable taxes. Payments are taken by Stripe or Paystack; a small card check made when saving a card for later is refunded straight away. If a renewal fails, the plan continues for a short grace period while we retry, then ends. Ending a plan never deletes records: only adding new paid features pauses. Auruments takes no commission on payments from a teacher's or school's own students. When a school turns on card payments for its invoices, families pay through Stripe or Paystack into the school's own payout account; the payment processor's cost is taken from that payment at cost, the school remains the seller of its lessons, and refunds and disputes are between the school and the family.

5. Intellectual Property & Conduct

Users retain ownership of their original content. However, sharing copyrighted sheet music or digital media during lessons must comply with applicable intellectual property laws. Respectful conduct is strictly required across all live sessions and community spaces.
